Mayo County Council has granted planning permission for a large data centre near the site of the former Asahi plant in Killala. Mayo Data Hub had sought approval to construct a 29,000 square metre structure at Killala Business Park last November. The local authority has today approved the proposal, subject to a number of conditions. It is anticipated that several hundred jobs could be provided during the construction phase of the development.
