Dublin Port Company has submitted an application seeking permission to go ahead with its 3FM Project, which will develop lands around the area, adding to its capacity. The 3FM Project is the third and final project under the port’s Masterplan 2040 and will cost an estimated €1.1bn. The plans include the construction of a new bridge over the River Liffey, a new terminal, a “maritime village” with 7km of pedestrian and cycle routes, a new public park and a floodlit playing pitch for local clubs.
